Please remember when buying vintage purses there are normally minor imperfections unless these are very noticable or detract from the style or attractiveness of the item they are not normally mentioned.
LOOKING FOR PERFECTION - VINTAGE IS NOT FOR YOU!
(Mint Condition) MINT - As close to "new" as possible for its age. No problems.
(Excellent Condition) Normal wear expected for age. Any problems are not easily visible.
(Gently Used) Normal wear expected for age. Shows very minimal wear
(Used) A purse that was used everyday. Not abused.... but used, shows more noticeable wear.

Asymmetrical black peau de soie material is gathered through brass rings and flows along to shape the handle. There is a center toggle latch compartment. The interior is lined with rich black satin with two slash pockets, a comb pocket and an open pocket lined in gold satin. This is a beautiful vintage Whiting and Davis purse. The purse is made of black mesh with a thick wide gold metal frame that has a Deco flair. The clasp has clear sparkling rhinestone decoration. A VERY RARE pure elegance of deep black thick plush cut velvet from the 60s which has a luscious feel. Two cut velvet "C's face each other on the front with interlocking "C's" in gold trimming both the front and back. The toggle latches have a unique mounting on each side. The black velvet handles have a quilted design, which reminds a person of the Di Camerino handbags. The interior is lined in genuine black leather with an open pocket and a brass zippered sidewall pocket. There is black leather coin purse attached to the open pocket by a gold metal chain. As described on page 41 in the book "Popular Purses, It's in the Bag is this "Evening Splendor" black velvet purse made in India in the 50's and 60's. This type of purse was carried by Renée Zellweger, in one of the scenes in the movie "My One and Only". The silver and gold metal threads sparkle and shine in the evening light. The gold cord handle is wristlet length. The interior is lined with black satin with an open sidewall pocket. These intricate embroidery purses were all hand made. Plush Italian Soprarizzo Velvet soft side handbag from the 60's. The colors are magnificent in burgundy, purple and slate gray. The handbag has an intriguing entry. Open the toggle latch and another flap is tucked into a compartment. The interior is lined with black satin with an open sidewall packet.
