Terminology regarding the condition of the Vintage Handbags:

Please remember when buying vintage purses there are normally minor imperfections 
 unless these are very noticable or detract from the style or attractiveness of the item they are not normally mentioned.

LOOKING FOR PERFECTION - VINTAGE IS NOT FOR YOU!

(Mint Condition) MINT - As close to "new" as possible for its age. No problems.
(Excellent Condition) Normal wear expected for age. Any problems are not easily visible.
(Gently Used) Normal wear expected for age. Shows very minimal wear
(Used) A purse that was used everyday. Not abused.... but used, shows more noticeable wear.

Tucked away and never used "Florida Handbags" from the 60's. Stunning metallic gold brocade with a black background with a clear vinyl overlay. The front is trimmed with four rows of bright shiny clear rhinestones and gold colored-piping. There is a tuck away gold metal wristlet strap.

A VERY RARE "Lewis" clutch from the 1945, which is featured on page 46 in the book "A Century of Handbags" by Kate Dooner. This large clutch is covered with brown gabardine wool with a large golden Lucite molded floral frame. The interior is lined rich brown satin with 3 open sidewall pockets trimmed with gold piping. There is a matching brown satin coin purse with a golden Lucite frame. One of the pockets has a mirror resting within. LUSH and SUMPTUOUS!

1940's Lewis Purse Magazine ad

A very rare 40's large opera pouchette designed by "Lewis". Created with deep black virgin wool that is gathered into a double genuine brass ring. The wools top is gathered around a wide wristlet swag. Adorning the front to a large wool covered disk with an embossed brass emblem depicted a lovely lady enjoying a flower’s fragrance. Lift the dick up and there is a perfect little round mirror. The backside has a long brass zipper opening. The interior is lined with black satin. There is a mirror resting in a black satin sleeve marked with Lewis. A MAJESTIC BEAUTY FROM A LONG AGO ERA!

Simple elegant and made of the softest black velvet. This "Koret" clutch from the 40's has a thick-brushed brass frame. Lovely flowing scallop design. The interior is lined with deep black satin with a hanging pocket that was designed for a mirror and comb. The mirror still rests in the pocket. RARE CLASSY RETRO STYLE!

Your eyes catch the swirling gold ribbon set against the jet-black bugle bead background of this stunning evening bag created by "Lennox". The corded shoulder strap can be tucked in the bag for use as a clutch. The lining is black satin with a small sidewall pocket. Gorgeous!

DISTINCTIVE and RARE vintage black satin purse with the most unusual gold metal frame. Between the circles are hand carved mother of pearl cameos. Each cameo has a different carving. The back side has insets of mother of pearl panels. The wide satin handle is wristlet length. The interior is lined with gold satin with two open sidewall pockets trimmed with black satin piping. This astonishing petit point handbag is quite RARE. Created with the most luscious hard to find color "Mineral Blue" splashed with a colorful bouquet of flowers on each side. The sold brass frame has been etched with a flower pattern that draws emphasis on the lovely petit point with a large flower shaped toggle latch. The sides and piping ate matching blue genuine leather. The chain is wristlet length. The interior is lined with matching blue grosgrain with two open pockets and a zippered sidewall pocket. Perfect for dress or casual wear!

An adorable 60's box purse mage of black satin with tiny metallic gold dots. The frame is gold metal with a wavy etched pattern. The interior is lined with red satin with a matching red coin purse and long open pocket trimmed with gold piping. A wondrous detail is a matching compact that still rests within the purse. The tiny handle slips to fit snuggly against the purse so the purse can be carried as a clutch. A sweet sixteen-prom purse from the past!

In the middle 70's the "King Tut Exhibit" (Tomb of Tutankhamun Artifacts) toured the US, this spurred designers to use Egyptian motif on clothes and accessories. This lovely dark brown faux suede handbag is one of the designs from the 70's era. Designed by "Normandie' in Montreal. Bright gold metal frame with an Egyptian plaque decorating the corners. The interior is lined with brown satin with two open pockets trimmed with gold piping. A perfect purse for dress or casual. PURE RETRO!

Exquisite black faille evening purse. Five deco art leaves adorn the handbag with sprinkles of bugle and tiny seed beads surrounding the leafs. The shoulder black cord can be tucked in so the bag can be carried as a clutch. Inside is lined in satin and there is a little side pocket. The label simply states 'Made in China". Nieman Marcus carried many of these beaded bags from China. Find a pair of vintage leaf earrings and you have a unique combination!
