Terminology regarding the condition of the Vintage Handbags:

Please remember when buying vintage purses there are normally minor imperfections 
 unless these are very noticable or detract from the style or attractiveness of the item they are not normally mentioned.

LOOKING FOR PERFECTION - VINTAGE IS NOT FOR YOU!

(Mint Condition) MINT - As close to "new" as possible for its age. No problems.
(Excellent Condition) Normal wear expected for age. Any problems are not easily visible.
(Gently Used) Normal wear expected for age. Shows very minimal wear
(Used) A purse that was used everyday. Not abused.... but used, shows more noticeable wear.

It is really hard to begin to describe this VERY RARE French handbag from the 50's. designed by "Herve', Paris 12 R.dela Paix". This weighty woven cut steel handbag is handmade in France and has an outstanding detailed deign that was a labor of love. The camera does not capture the luminous sparkle that the cut steel beads reflect. The top frame has an intricate beaded deisgn. The interior is lined with rich deep dark blue satin with an open pocket on each sidewall. These handbags usually are displayed in a glass cubicle at high-end vintage shops since they are so rare. Especially this handbag since the condition is mint. The four I have listed came from a meticulous collector, which I am very lucky to list for her. A TRUE VINTAGE TREASURE!

Exquisite luminous black metal bubble mesh handbag from the 80's by Whiting & Davis, perfect in every way. The gold metal deco style frame is filigree embellished with tiny bright clear rhinestones. The interior is amazing with gold satin lining with a gold satin coin purse. There are two open pockets and one pocket has a tiny mirror resting within. The beaded handle is wristlet length. The frame is stamped Whiting & Davis made in USA style number 2900. EYE CATCHING RETRO!

Outrageous RARE vintage 50's black glass beaded purse over black satin with an adornment of petit point roses on the front and back. The lift up latch is set with a huge turquoise colored rhinestone. A tiny clear acrylic pillbox with a lid encrusted with gold filigree, tiny turquoise colored rhinestones and a petit point rose still remains inside the handbag after its long time journey. The interior is lined with pristine black satin with an open slash pocket on each sidewall. Designed by "Jolles Original".

An eye catching vintage black ' Peau de Soie ' fabric evening shoulder purse by the high end designer of shoes and purse "Stuart Weitzman. Totally exquisite RARE glass seed bead purse from the 50's. Tiny gold threads weave around Asian figures and flowers that are created with colorful silk threads. The long etched brass frame opens and closes with hidden springs. The frame is set with tiny turquoise colored stones. The chain strap is wristlet length. The interior is lined in pristine black satin with two large open pockets. There is a mirror resting in one of the pockets and has a "Bonwit Teller" signature. STUNNING!

A magnificent petite black silk evening handbag from the 40's with a winged shape. The solid brass frame is topped off with a taffy twist clear Lucite bar, A scalloped pull latch adorns the front. The interior is lined with rich black satin with a slash pocket trimmed with gold piping. A little matching black satin coin pouch lined in gold satin with a clear Lucite ring rest within the purse. Designed and sold at "Bonwit Teller". A LUSH CLASSIC BEAUTY!

1940's Lewis Purse Magazine ad

A very rare 40's large opera pouchette designed by "Lewis". Created with deep black virgin wool that is gathered into a double genuine brass ring. The wools top is gathered around a wide wristlet swag. Adorning the front to a large wool covered disk with an embossed brass emblem depicted a lovely lady enjoying a flower’s fragrance. Lift the dick up and there is a perfect little round mirror. The backside has a long brass zipper opening. The interior is lined with black satin. There is a mirror resting in a black satin sleeve marked with Lewis. A MAJESTIC BEAUTY FROM A LONG AGO ERA!

Simple elegant and made of the softest black velvet. This "Koret" clutch from the 40's has a thick-brushed brass frame. Lovely flowing scallop design. The interior is lined with deep black satin with a hanging pocket that was designed for a mirror and comb. The mirror still rests in the pocket. RARE CLASSY RETRO STYLE!

In the middle 70's the "King Tut Exhibit" (Tomb of Tutankhamun Artifacts) toured the US, this spurred designers to use Egyptian motif on clothes and accessories. This lovely dark brown faux suede handbag is one of the designs from the 70's era. Designed by "Normandie' in Montreal. Bright gold metal frame with an Egyptian plaque decorating the corners. The interior is lined with brown satin with two open pockets trimmed with gold piping. A perfect purse for dress or casual. PURE RETRO!
