(Gently Used) Normal wear expected for age. Shows very minimal wear
(Used) A purse that was used everyday. Not abused.... but used, shows more noticeable wear.

Corde' handbags from the 40's. Corde' handbags were created using rows of gimp in unique patterns stitched to a fabric background. Clear Lucite pulls or handles were added to give these handbags and even more distinct look. Tortoise colored Lucite accented others. Advertised in the 1940's as the longest wearing of all the handbag fabrics. This statement seems to ring true since these handbags have traveled through time with refinement, elegance and last ability.

This is a VERY RARE Corde' clutch from the 40's. So many of these Corde' purses have disappeared through time and I am totally amazed to locate such a unique Corde' design. Covered with chocolate brown gimp the flows into a wing design. The wings are trimmed with tortoise shell colored Lucite. The zipper pull is matching Lucite. The interior is lined with brown grosgrain. The brass zipper is strong. The label inside reads (Genuine Corde'). This Corde' clutch is a real time traveler marking 70 years. An intricate pattern catches your eyes on this long Corde' clutch. The contoured body and top winged design matches the gimp pattern.
