Max Holzman is accountable for many original handbag designs which were highly sought after, He designed and patented the "Roll Top Desk Bag" which incorporated an unique and unusual feature for a handbag. He designed the "Rear Window Bag" which played a prominent part in the picture by the same name and received top billing, second to Grace Kelly. This 50's red leather box purse is a true example of his inventive designs. This box purse features a cottage roof shaped lid with two thin leather wristlet length straps jutting out from the sides. A round brass hat shape latch dominates the front. The interior is lined with black satin with a zippered sidewall pocket, slash pocket and a comb pocket.
