Please remember when buying vintage purses there are normally minor imperfections unless these are very noticable or detract from the style or attractiveness of the item they are not normally mentioned.
LOOKING FOR PERFECTION - VINTAGE IS NOT FOR YOU!
(Mint Condition) MINT - As close to "new" as possible for its age. No problems.
(Excellent Condition) Normal wear expected for age. Any problems are not easily visible.
(Gently Used) Normal wear expected for age. Shows very minimal wear
(Used) A purse that was used everyday. Not abused.... but used, shows more noticeable wear.

"Margaret Smith" founded her handbag company in Maine in the 1940s; at the suggestion of friends she had made beach totes for as gifts. Her brother, financier Cyrus Pinkham, and professional designer Bill Waters helped her launch her business, eventually joining her full-time as it rapidly expanded (at its height, the company had over 30 employees). Typically designed with floral prints, her bags were sold in women’s specialty shops and, in the 1950s/1960s, by Bonwit Teller. Margaret Smith Inc. dropped its clothing line in 2005 and closed completely in 2008. This UNIQUE sling bag is from the 80's. Margaret used this popular print for several decades. I really like the sling bag the best of all the different shaped handbags she used this fabric on. The bag has a strong heavy plastic zipper. The lining is a brown nylon fabric. PURE ARM CANDY! These were remarkable reversible "Caviar" beaded handbags form the 1950's. This large Caviar bag is covered with solid white beads on one side and on the other the white Caviar beads have circles of clear beads with tiny pink flowers. The beaded handle is wristlet length. Plush Italian "Soprarizzo Velvet" soft side handbag from the 60's. The colors are magnificent in burgundy, purple and slate gray. The handbag has an intriguing entry. Open the toggle latch and another flap is tucked into a compartment. The interior is lined with black satin with an open sidewall packet. The chain handles can be adjusted from wristlet length to shoulder length. Looks much like a Roberta di Camerino design but it only simply states "Made in Italy". The 60's and 70's Enid Collins of Texas wood box purses and canvas totes are most likely the most collected vintage handbag and this "Je vous aime" (I Love You) is one of the most sought after. All the original beads and stones are still in place. The dark brown leather handles are in perfect condition. The interior is pristine with a mirror and Enid's logo on the inside lid. "Meyers Manufacturing Company" 5th Avenue New York created quality unique handbags from the 40's through the 60's. Many different designers created bags for this company and Bonnie Cashin was one such designer. Not sure which designer create this special RARE vintage handbag but it's truly special. Covered in jet-black faux leather and has been textured to look like lizard skin. The front is adorned with a working wind-up watch and fob. The watch is a "Marcel" with tiny bright clear rhinestones circling the crystal. The handle is strong and is long enough to slip onto your shoulder and carry snuggly under your arm. After Anne's death in 1974 Tomino Taki bought all shares in the Company, which allowed him to promote the assistant Donna Karan to the lead of the designer room, who a decade later became a household name. Donna Karan launched a Anne Klein brand that led to the development of the first bridge-line in American fashion, A line with a price point just under designer-label fashion yet still much better quality than better, moderate, and budget lines while maintaining a similar look. This bridge-line was a new system Klein developed with Taki before her death. Donna Karan and Louis Dell'Ollio were the head designers until 1985.
