If you look closely the edges of the frame have been touched up with gold metallic paint. along with a spot on the bottom. When carries unnoticed. As described on page 41 in the book "Popular Purses, It's in the Bag is this "Evening Splendor" black velvet purse made in India in the 50's and 60's. This type of purse was carried by Renée Zellweger, in one of the scenes in the movie "My One and Only". The silver metal threads sparkle and shine in the evening light. The peacock’s body is created with blue silk thread. There is an embroidered finger band on the backside. The interior is lined with black satin. Still tucked away in it's original box. Petite but large enough for your cell phone and a few necessary items.

A strikingly beautiful 60's box purse by "Magid". Textured gold faux leather with a twisted gold metal handle inlayed with tiny rhinestones. The latch has a cluster of clear sparkling rhinestones. This a very rare 50's evening purse by "Berger Bags". Metallic gold threaded purse with a window inset of hand painted silk. The silk panel depicts an Oriental market with sellers and buyers. The handle is genuine beige leather. The interior is lined with cream-colored satin, which shows minor wear. There is two open sidewall pockets. A very UNIQUE two sided crushed velvet box purse from the 70's.  Covered in elegant chocolate brown crushed velvet. Both sides open, and have snap closures. One side reveals a roomy pocket for essentials and a shiny bright wall mirror, and the other side opens to reveal a compartment, with gusset sides to prevent spilling.  The silver chain is shoulder length. The interior is lined with orange satin, which shows slight wear.  The designer is "Miss Lewis".
